Deserted for Development

In the shadow of the suspension bridge that services the airport stands a 250 year-old deserted village. The  Government began rehousing villagers to the north of Ma Wan island up until 2011 when the last remaining people were evicted. As part of the compensation package, villagers were given a  choice of a traditional 3-storey village house or 3 apartment units.
